Through the Foundation, donors can create a personal philanthropic fund that combines the personal recognition, continued involvement and influence in grantmaking of a private foundation with the tax advantages and ease of administration of a public charity.

Although the Foundation is a public charity, it is unique in that it supports the broadest array of charitable causes. Your clients can support almost any charitable or philanthropic organization or cause of their choice through the Foundation.

Donors can participate in the grant making process if they wish.

They can leave the decisions on grantmaking up to the Foundation Board through an unrestricted endowment, giving our current and future Boards maximum flexibility to respond to the area’s changing and emerging needs.

Or they can establish endowments to meet their unique and specific charitable interests through designated or donor advised funds.

Endowments can be funded through charitable gift annuities which pay a lifetime income to the donor or donor’s beneficiary and result in a permanent charitable gift at the donor’s or the donor’s beneficiary’s death.

The Foundation also administers scholarship funds and holds agency endowments for the benefit of other non-profit organizations.

We encourage financial advisors to discuss with their clients the advantages of using the Foundation. Many in this area have found it a flexible and user-friendly tool to meet their unique objectives. Especially during certain windows of opportunity such preparing a will, planning for retirement, selling a business or other major asset or at times of a financial windfall, the Foundation can help maximize the personal benefits of giving.
