Hero’s Luncheon

Heros Logo for PinterestEvery year, the foundation chooses a Hero to honor. When selecting honorees for the Hero’s Luncheon, we look to those whose initiatives and accomplishments have brought significant benefits to Lubbock and the South Plains Area.

It is with great enthusiasm and pride that the Board of Directors selected The Minnie and Arch Underwood Family to be honored at this year’s Hero’s Luncheon as our 2014 Hero!  While the Underwood family was THE early Texas pioneering family in West Texas for cotton buying and builder of cotton compresses and warehouses, their contributions extend far beyond their significant economic development impact.  Beginning with Minnie and Arch Underwood and extending through the generations, the Underwood family has had both business and philanthropic impacts that will reverberate for years to come.

As our celebrated Hero for 2014, we will create a special endowment—The Minnie and Arch Underwood Endowment—which will make annual grants to the causes of the family’s choosing.

We invite you to join the Lubbock Area Foundation in supporting our 2014 Hero’s – The Minnie & Arch Underwood Family.
